Solving the problems you wish you could get to

The leadership journey continues

In 2013, Duncan became Head of English in a school in Essex before quickly becoming an Assistant Principal in charge of Teaching and Learning. After a decade of being judged 'Requires Improvement' the school was graded 'Good' by Ofsted in 2016. Just before this, Duncan became Vice Principal of Teaching, Learning and Assessment.
In 2018, Duncan became Principal of the school at 33, a role he remained in for 7 years. During that time, Duncan led the school to its best ever outcomes, consistently achieving attainment scores well above the national average, secured a further 'Good' Ofsted inspection in 2023, successfully moved the school into a highly regarded Multi-Academy Trust, rejuvenated the facilities through selling a small piece of school land in order to build a state-of-the-art multi-purpose sports pitch and tennis courts, expanded the curriculum by creating new subjects such as dance, economics and media studies and successfully navigated the school through the perils of the global pandemic never losing sight of the key purpose; to provide the best educational offer for the young people that the school serves.
Duncan is also a facilitator for a Teaching Hub, running the NPQ in Headship course, a Specialist Leader in Education, has completed the NPQ in Executive Leadership, provided bespoke coaching for a range of education leaders and provided talks for a range of educational organisations on topics such as pupil premium and motivating disengaged learners.
During his time in school leadership, Duncan has experienced many of the 'wicked' problems that leaders continue to face and, together, with you, he can work with you to resolve them and find solutions.
